On Wednesday, June 27, The Washington Post will host House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) for a one-on-one discussion with James Hohmann, Washington Post national political correspondent and author of “The Daily 202” newsletter. Scalise will discuss his experience working with President Trump and why he recently applauded the president’s actions to open diplomatic talks with North Korea and pull out of the Iran nuclear agreement.
The Louisiana Republican will share his views on gun control, school shootings and his recovery from the wound he suffered at a practice for the annual Congressional Baseball Game last June. Scalise will also evaluate the shake-up in GOP Congressional leadership and tell us why he believes Republicans will maintain control of the U.S. House of Representatives after the 2018 midterm elections.
